Funded as a Special Project by the College of Education at California State University Los Angeles, performance artist and SPARK! company member Changing FrEQuencies presents "Music as Medicine: Creative Wellness Concert," a live, multimedia event is a 4-hour collection of dynamic performances, artist interviews, wellness information, and more! The event will be live-streamed and recorded from Oklahoma City and Los Angeles.
Featuring a host of artists from OKC and LA, from diverse backgrounds, with expertise across a broad spectrum of creative and expressive performance-based art, each will be interviewed on their forms of creative expression and the relationship between their art and their personal health and wellness.
Additionally, local health and wellness service providers are invited to distribute information in community outreach efforts, in both locations.
Overall our goal is to create a safe space for various peer-to-peer perspectives on health and wellness, coupled with increasing awareness and access to prevention and support services that are culturally sensitive and culturally competent.
